Star Actuarial is currently working with a leading specialist insurer in the search for a part-qualified non-life actuary with growing pricing experience to provide programming support for the Speciality Lines underwriting and claims teams.
Providing support for the production and maintenance of pricing models, you will assist with the enhancement of the quality of decision making through the use of quantitative and analysis tools and techniques, including rating models and claims models.
You will also work with the underwriters to price individual accounts and portfolios of business, including determining the most appropriate method or model to use.
In addition, you will train and educate underwriters in respect of the basic principles of rating models and the data needed using these models whilst contributing to improving the pricing processes and methodologies.
A competent user of MS Excel, VBA, Access, SQL, SAS and R skills would also be desirable, as would Lloyd’s / London market knowledge.
