Antony is the joint founder and Managing Director of Star Actuarial Futures. He is a qualified actuary (FIA 2003) with technical experience in pensions and non-life insurance and experience of recruiting, developing and retaining high performing actuarial teams.
 
Antony now applies his detailed understanding of the actuarial market in the recruitment of high quality actuaries and actuarial students. In particular, he has enjoyed significant success working closely with clients to complete difficult mandates.

Biography

Antony graduated from Sheffield University in 1999 with a 1st Class Masters Degree in Mathematics.

He then joined PricewaterhouseCoopers' Human Resource Services team in Birmingham, where he qualified as an actuary in 2003, passing all of the actuarial exams first time. Antony provided corporate advice on pension scheme strategy, transaction support and audit support to a number of PwC's flagship clients. Antony also took on a wide range of management responsibilities. In particular, he was heavily involved in recruitment and induction, completing a Recruitment Interviewing Skills Course, performing interviews and planning and delivering business skills and technical training courses.

In 2005, Antony was the first actuary to join Legal & General's non-life insurance business in Birmingham and he played a significant part in the recruitment and development of the new actuarial team. Antony's role expanded during his period at L&G, and from 2008 onwards, as Head of Actuarial Services, he was responsible for reserving, capital modelling, reinsurance strategy and risk pricing.

In 2009, Antony and Louis Manson set up Star Actuarial Futures to provide recruitment consultancy services to the actuarial market. The company is now a market leader, working with a wide range of clients, having received a number of awards and accolades.
