Commercial Leader - Non-life

Leading global financial security company is seeking a qualified actuary to provide Commercial Actuarial Leadership to the business and to ensure the developing, building and maintenance of robust models and processes for the key commercial actuarial processes:
• Commercial Pricing (Primary Focus);
• Product Development
• Product Management Profitability

You will:
• Lead the commercial /technical discussions internally and client facing where required.
• Lead the development of commercial pricing including leading the control and governance framework.
• Lead the integration of pricing models, methodologies and assumptions with the capital and reserving models as part of the Solvency II Use Test.
• Support the development of the pricing team in conjunction with the Pricing Leader through strong leadership, management and mentoring.
• Lead the development of pricing best estimate, stresses and capital computations and synchronise to the ICA capital modelling platform.
• Lead the development of new products through close interaction with customers, commercial team and internal actuarial, finance and risk teams.
• Lead the development of product management processes, reporting and analytics around product profitability, value of new business profitability and risk metrics.
• Represent the Technical team at Board and SLT level in SVP Technical Director’s absence and deputise for him where appropriate.
• Manage the core pricing team and mentor/develop team in soft and technical skill sets.

Candidate requirements:
• Qualified FIA or FFA actuary with relevant post qualification experience with substantial non-life insurance experience preferably encompassing either CAT modelling, macroeconomic modelling and / or Credit Insurance
• Proven experience in the development and implementation of reserving and pricing models, processes and routines.
• Commercially oriented with a proven track record of providing pragmatic solutions in the context of imperfect data and commercial deal making.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and within a matrix organisation.
• Leadership experience of UK/European regulation and ICA /Risk Based Capital.
• Experience of the Insurance Industry accounting flows and capital adequacy requirements effective time and resource management and team building.
• Proven leadership and management experience. Strong interpersonal skills.
• Previous commercial actuarial pricing experience.

• US GAAP, Non life, ICA/Solvency II experience desirable.
